SHINUI - Center for Relationship Consulting is a non-profit association founded in January 2000. The association has a dual purpose:

  1. To create a cultural center for professionals working in the field of helping relationships, through cultural initiatives and various types of educational proposals. The Shinui center stands out for its innovative approach, the systemic pluralistic approach, offering a stimulating and inclusive environment. Through our courses, seminars, and workshops, Shinui explores the complexity of the human relationship, providing practical tools to manage and improve personal and professional connections.
  2. To create a professional center that promotes well-being in individuals, intimate relationships, families, and society. The psychotherapy, counseling, and family mediation services aim to promote a culture of helping relationships where the human relationship between professional and client is equitable, while maintaining different roles, and where there is particular attention to the rights of those using the services (within the center and also in the community).

The choice to be an association rather than a private center is aimed at maintaining continuous contact with the community (services and citizens).

Thanks to heterogeneous systemic training, together with Cecilia Edelstein, the team has developed the Systemic Pluralistic approach, which includes various systemic orientations applied in psychotherapy (including brief therapy), counseling, and family mediation, and intertwines narrative with body language, emotions, and non-verbal expressive techniques.

In particular, the association values reflection and debate on topics such as:

  • Human systems
  • Human relationships
  • Promotion of well-being
  • Mental health
  • Misuse of power in the professional context
  • Families
  • Intercultural communication
  • Non-violent resolution of conflict and suffering
  • Valuing differences
  • Promotion of dialogues and conversations

Special attention is dedicated to opening a dialogue amongst professionals from different sectors (psycho-social health, educational, and legal) through training programs aimed at developing new ideas and interdisciplinary discussion. The association is present throughout Italy and in some foreign countries through training activities for public, private, and social professionals.

Shinui offers a wide range of training programs and recognized courses: it promotes counseling courses, family mediation courses, and offers a specialization in the intercultural field. The latter, started in 2004, is still a unique experience in Italy that brings together counselors, family mediators, and psychotherapists, creating synergies and defining boundaries between professions. Its prestigious counseling school, recognized in 2000, was one of the first in Italy. The training for all courses, aimed at developing advanced skills, is continually updated for recognition and diploma attainment.

The center also promotes short-term training in the form of workshops or experiential courses, both in-person and online.

Shinui serves as a school of reference for advanced training for professionals in the helping relationship field.

The Shinui Center collaborates with renowned pioneers of Family Therapy such as Maurizio Andolfi and has worked with several masters of the systemic approach who have passed away, such as Salvador Minuchin and Rodolfo de Bernart.

Shinui is attentive to the dissemination of knowledge and is involved in documenting new ideas and experiences. The Dialogues and Conversations with Shinui series offers valuable notebooks from the main seminars held over the years (Salvador Minuchin, Luigi Boscolo, Maurizio Andolfi).

Shinui means "change" in Hebrew.
